JENNINGS — A wide range of custom vehicles of all types will be making their way into Jennings this weekend for the 14th annual Last Resort custom automotive show.

The event opens to the public 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22 and Saturday, Oct. 23 and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24.at the Louisiana Oil and Gas Park, located off Interstate 10 at exit 64.

“People can expect an all-makes, all-models event,” promoter Stuart Daigle said. “Everything from cars, trucks, motorcycles, lifted, lowered, slammed, fast, slow, all- out custom to modified daily drivers.”

The event annually attracts more than 500 vehicles from all over the United States, he said.

“The event started in 2008 as a one-day event, and our goal was to provide a laid back custom show for the whole family to enjoy,” Daigle said. ”As our followers and supporters grew, it allowed us to expand the show into what it is today.”

Jennings was selected as the host city, because Daigle wanted something he could grow in his hometown.

Gates open to the public at 9 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22. Judging begins at noon. Gates close to spectators at 5 p.m. A hospitality night for participants and vendors will be held at 6 p.m.

Gates open at 9 a.m. Saturday Oct. 23 with judging underway. Games for clubs, kids and adults will be held from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the main stage. A kids trunk or treat will be held at 3 p.m.

Gates close to spectators at 5 p.m. with campsite Halloween contest judging at 67 p.m., followed by an after party at 8 p.m.

Festivities continue at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 24 with gates opening to the public. Judging will be held 9-11 a.m. with an awards ceremony set for 1 p.m. at the main stage. The show ends at 3 p.m.

Car enthusiasts from all over the United States will have a chance to show off their rides and visit with spectators, judges and other car owners during the three-day event.

Vehicles are judged on their cleanliness, modifications, exception of mods, quality of craftsmanship and overall appearance with trophies and prizes awarded to the top 100 categories and 14 “best of” awards. Awards will be presented on stage at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Car enthusiasts and spectators can also grab a bite to eat from multiple food vendors or purchase automobile merchandise from vendors.

Admission is $10 per day for spectators. Children12 and under are free.

Vehicle registration is $60 and continues the day of the show. Vehicles can register at the gate the weekend of the event.

Money raised from the event is put back into the event for future growth, Daigle said.

There will be hand wash stations provided and social distancing is recommended due to COVID-19.
