Barristers Bingo is back

Lawyers are known for their competitive nature. They love the game, and they play to win. Thursday, May 2, they’ll get the chance to do just that. Southwest Louisiana Law Center’s Barristers Bingo is back. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at the Pioneer Club, and the enthusiastic Arthur Woodard will make his first call at 7 p.m.

“We have gift cards, weekends at resort communities and gift baskets of fun for the whole family, including the children ‘’ said Genia Coleman-Lee, executive director of the Law Center. She said it will not be just local and Law Center attorneys competing for prizes. “We’ll be joined by other businesses and sponsors,” she said.

The real winners will be families who need the Southwest Louisiana Law Center’s services.

“We are a nonprofit family law center that serves Allen, Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron and Jeff Davis parishes,” said Coleman-Lee.  “We charge on a sliding fee scale according to income. We also use grants and the funds we raise because as you can imagine, a parent having to flee his or her abusive spouse doesn’t have to pay for a lawyer.”

To attend, buy a table or sponsor, call the SWLA Law Center at (337) 436-9491.
