Joseph “Gary” Judice passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, surrounded by family. Gary was born Sept. 27, 1947, to Herman and Lillian Judice. He was a loving husband, father and friend to everyone. Gary lived his childhood years in Sulphur where he went to Sulphur High School and then graduated from Sowela Technical Community College.
He was a welder where he worked at Cities Service for many years. He began working for Conoco Petroleum Coke Handling terminal as an operator in 1983 until retiring. Gary loved his family and did everything for his wife Pam. He was very handy around the home and could do most anything he tried to do. He loved listening to Cajun French and Swamp Pop music and up until the last few years would often be out listening to live music on the weekends. He loved festivals, live music and Mardi Gras. He was a member of the Cajun French Music Association Lake Charles and Orange Chapters. Gary attended East Ridge Baptist Church. Like many of us here in Louisiana, his favorite thing to do was eat. He always ate everything on his plate no matter how long it took him.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Lillian Judice; sister, Delores Duhon; brother, Richard Judice; and his in-laws, Edwin and Betty (Granny) Gauthreaux.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of more than 52 years, Pamela Gauthreaux Judice; daughters, Michelle Judice and Kimberly Judice Fontenot; son, Bryan Judice and wife Charla; many nieces and nephews; many friends; and his fur baby, Prissy. He and his abundance of treats, will be missed by his grand dog and grand cats.
The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Thursday, March 23, 2023, beginning at 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and will resume at 10 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 1 p.m. on Friday led by Brother Alan Weishampel with East Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will be immediately following at Highland Memory Gardens.
