Local children with special needs participated in the inaugural “BRODEO, Brody Meaux Memorial Rodeo with a Special Touch” Wednesday at Burton Coliseum. JoAnn and Jimmy Meaux conceptualized this all-day event in honor of their late son, Brody Meaux, who passed away at age 20 from complications of MECP2 Duplication Syndrome. The children were able to get up close and personal with farm animals and engage in rodeo events like Bucking Bull, Rope the Steer and Barrels and Poles. (Photos by Rick Hickman / American Press)
