Ray Kenneth Desselle

Ray Kenneth Desselle, 83, of Sulphur, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022, in a local hospital.
Ray was a 1956 graduate of Bordelonville High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Marines and proudly served his country for four years. He graduated from Sowela Tech and was an instrumentation technician in local industry, retiring after 40 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and a 3rd and 4th degree Knight with Knights of Columbus Council 3015. Ray cherished time spent with his family and a father who was always involved with his children; often being the coach of his children’s ball teams. He enjoyed cooking for others and used his talent to prepare many meals not only for family and friends, also for many Knights of Columbus functions
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years, Dianne Roy Desselle of Sulphur; three children, Jill Desselle of Alabama, Jack Desselle and wife Colleen of Carlyss, and Miles Desselle and wife Cindy of Sulphur; six grandchildren, Charles Desselle and wife Melissa, Kaitlin Castillo and husband Grant, Logan Desselle and wife Isabella, Seth Desselle and Keelie, Madeline Desselle and Michael, and Michael Desselle; and three great grandchildren, Tucker, Cooper Kate, and Everett John.
Ray was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
In honor of Ray’s wishes, the family will hold a Celebration of Life service on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home with Deacon Patrick LaPoint officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 25, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. till time of the memorial service at Johnson and Robison Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Our Lady’s Catholic School, 1111 Cypress Street, Sulphur, LA 70663.
