Dwight Eugene “Pete” Landry, 73, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2022.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur and a graduate of Sulphur High School. Pete enjoyed collecting antiques and Coca-Cola memorabilia and spending time with his family. He was a member of Our Lady of Lasalette Catholic Church. He was the owner and operator of Pete’s Hair Manor for 50 years.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Elaina Landry; his children, Bobbi Jo Landry Spears and husband, John, and Candice Landry Maples and husband, Stephen, all of Sulphur, and Greta Landry McMahon and partner, Glenn Russum of League City, Texas; his siblings, Billie Rose Vincent, Priscilla Jane Daigle, Sharon Delane O’Quain, Steve Landry, Graylynn Landry, and Dwayne Landry, all of Sulphur; his former son-in-law, Frank McMahon, Jr. of Kemah, Texas; seven grandchildren, Kelsey McMahon Johnson and husband, Joseph, Trey McMahon, Brennan Maples and wife, Karliegh, Tyler Maples, Shelby Maples VanWinkle and wife, Brittany, Mattilyn Maples and fiance’, Sean Mahana, and Scarlet Olivia Spears; and two great-grandchildren, Elaina Maples and Coleson Maples. He is preceded in death by his parents, Melvel and Irene Landry; and his brothers, Gwen Lee Landry and Melvel Landry, Jr.
A Celebration of Pete’s Life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home, led by Hixson Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of service Friday in the funeral home.
