Barbara Ann (Bobbie) Comeaux Woods was born in Alexandria, La. on Oct. 4, 1931.  Her parents were Duel Paul Comeaux and Lucille Aloysius LaCour.  She graduated from Kaplan High School and attended Spencer Business College in Lafayette, La.  She went to work at First National Bank of Lafayette, where she met her future husband.

In 1952 she married Otray Woods.  He entered military service and in 1953 they moved to Virginia where he was stationed.  Upon discharge in 1955, they moved back to Louisiana to start their family.  They settled in Lake Charles where they spent the rest of their lives.

Bobbie’s love of art and beautiful things became evident first in her paintings.  For years, she spent her leisure time engrossed in this artwork for the love of it.  Many of her paintings hang in area homes of her friends and family.  Years later she developed another artistic skill, designing and making beautiful jewelry.

Yet she still had time for her family.

She is survived by her children, David (Joan) Woods of Coldspring, Texas, Tim (Theresa) Woods of Lake Charles, and Rachelle Woods of Lake Charles. “GrandBob,” as she was called, also leaves behind six grandchildren; Jeremy, Douglas, Emily, Lindsey, Mitchel, and Gabriel; and four great-grandchildren,  Philip, Olivia, Grayson, and Connor.  She also leaves behind her brother and his wife, Carl Wayne (Debbie) Comeaux of Lake Charles.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 70 years, Otray; and three children, Judith Marie, John Christopher, and Melanie Marie.

The Woods Family spent many happy years at their camp at Toledo Bend, enjoying just being together.  Her lifelong love for her family, strong faith in God, and making everyone around her happy, is the testament to a life well lived.
