Roxanne  Marie (Fruh) Whitstine

Roxanne Marie (Fruh) Whitstine, 69, of DeQuincy, La. passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. She was born to Charles and Elenora Fruh on April 15, 1955 in Washington, Kan. Roxanne excelled academically and graduated from Westlake High School in 1973. She obtained a degree from Sowela Tech and worked as a bookkeeper for a number of years. She was married to Duane Whitstine, also of Westlake, for 49 years. She was a homemaker and friend to many people whom she met in her life.

Roxanne had a servant’s heart and her joy in life was spending time taking care of her husband, children and grandchildren, as well as quilting and cooking. She also enjoyed spending time spoiling her animals. Roxanne loved going to the beach. She always provided a bright, loving and cheerful home for her “little family”. Roxanne took great pride in being the best wife, mother, and grandmother she could be. She was a Godly woman and inspiration to all who loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 50 years, Duane Whitstine; two children, Justin Whitstine and wife, Amanda of Sulphur, La., Rachel Whitstine LaCroix and husband, Grant of Youngsville, La.; sister, Deborah Williams and husband, Greg of The Woodlands, Texas; along with three grandchildren, June Whitstine, Marie Whitstine, and Bradley LaCroix.

Roxanne was preceded in death by her parents, as well as, her sister, Cynthia Fruh Regan.

A Celebration of Roxanne’s life will be held at Hixson Funeral Home in Westlake, La. on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Lloyd Whitman officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Big Woods Cemetery in Vinton, La.
