Wanda Ann Langley

Wanda Ann Langley, 81 years old, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024, in Lake Charles, La. Wanda was born on Oct. 11, 1942, in Oberlin, La. to John and Alice Chaumont.

She was a graduate of LaGrange Senior High School in 1960, and then followed her education at Sowela Technical College with an LPN degree. She worked at Moss Regional Hospital from 1976 to 1996, then worked at St. Patrick’s Hospital from 1996 until she retired. Wanda was a talented seamstress and great cook.  She always looked forward to the next trip, as she enjoyed traveling and RV camping with her husband and family throughout the U.S. Mrs. Langley will be most remembered for her welcoming spirit and open-door policy as well as her lengthy daily phone calls. She will be greatly missed.

Wanda was a member of St. Margarets Catholic Church and where she served many years as Eucharistic Minister.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, Sherman Langley; one son, Jason Langley; brother, Ronnie Chaumont, and brothers-in-law, Steven Krause, Robert Langley and Jim Langley. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, James Langley and wife, Tracey of Oahu, Hawaii, Jonathan Langley of Iowa, La., Jennifer Behmer and husband, Joe, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; sisters, Donna Krause of Phoenix, Ariz., and Denise Doss and husband, Kenny, of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Anthony Chaumont and wife, Tammy, of Westlake, La.; brother and sister-in-law, AJ Langley and Sharyl of Iowa, La.; sisters-in-law; Gretchen Chaumont of Iota, La., Carolyn Langley of Moss Bluff and Judy Langley of Bakersfield, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Roxann Brister and husband, Keith, of Cary, N.C. and six grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Langley will be held on Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Visitation  is Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2024 will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a rosary service beginning at 7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Lake Charles. Visitation will continue  Thursday from 9  a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment services will at Consolata Cemetery.
