Known for her intense love of her family and her deep Catholic faith, Jeanette Marie Louviere Wyninger, 77, of Sulphur, died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Feb. 8, 2024.

Jeanette was born in Sulphur on March 6, 1946 to George and Bernice Louviere, who instilled in Jeanette her love of the Catholic Church and the importance of family. She grew up the third of eight children. Jeanette and her sister, Laura, were the first students to register to attend Our Lady’s Catholic School when it opened in 1954.  She graduated from Sulphur High School in 1964 and married “Porter Bill”, the love of her life, that summer.

Being a mother was Jeanette’s one true dream and she couldn’t wait to start a family. Jeanette and Porter Bill had four children, who were their world. Little did she know that her favorite role would be being a “Nana” to her 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Jeanette’s example of selfless love and support of family, rooted in her faith, will live on in the legacy of her family.
