Tye “Deuce” Taylor

Tye “Deuce” Taylor passed away suddenly on Friday, Jan. 26, 2024, after 30 joyful years of life.

Tye was born in Jasper, Texas and lived most of his life in Lake Charles. He grew up participating in whatever sport he could but chose to focus on being a quarterback and wide receiver for the Barbe High School Buccaneers. In addition to being a gifted athlete, Tye excelled academically and graduated with a 4.0 grade point average. He was also a part of the Calcasieu Parish School Board French Immersion program throughout the entirety of his schooling. Outside of school, his hobbies were hunting, fishing, and gaming. Without fail you could always Find Tye carrying the team on the field, on the water, or online.

Tye found his life’s work in law enforcement, joining the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office in 2019. He completed the Southwest Louisiana Law Enforcement Training Academy for both the Corrections and the Uniform Patrol Divisions. He’s had several other jobs and always managed to make lifelong friends no matter where he was employed.

Tye was a well-loved member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church where he was happy to serve in children’s ministry with his wife of 10 adoring years. He also faithfully went to his parent’s house every Thursday for lunch. Tytianna, his first niece, is in middle school now but Marlii is still young enough to be at the front door waiting for him to arrive. Tye always made sure to be a loving son, brother, uncle, husband, and friend. He aspired to impact others the way his father and mother did for him throughout his life. He always chose to see the positive in every person he met and situation he encountered. He was a rock for everyone in his life, and provided support, love, and good energy to anyone who needed it. He will be well loved and well missed in so many lives.

Funeral services will be at 12 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, 2024, at Glad Tidings Assembly of God, 3400 Texas St. Lake Charles, La.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1 at Glad Tidings, and from 10 a.m. until service time on Friday.

The Rev. Paul Burke will officiate. Burial will be in Combre Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.

Survivors are his wife, Kameron Bourgeois Taylor of Lake Charles; his parents Tye Taylor Sr. and Dezra Brown Taylor of Lake Charles; a brother Desmond “Buck” Brown and sister-in-law, Tarhonda “Tee” Malbrough of Lacassine, and a sister Tylesheia “Cheese” Taylor of Lake Charles; nieces Tytianna and Marlii, and nephew Kolin; he is also survived by his grandparents, Mary Taylor of Texas and Irene Brown of Lake Charles. Tye was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Harry “Chico” Taylor and maternal grandfather “Lee” Daniel Brown Senior.
