Juanita Cecile Breaux, 93, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2024 in a local care center.

She was born in Ged and was a lifelong resident of Vinton. Juanita had been a member of First Baptist Church of Vinton and enjoyed flower gardening, painting, and sewing. She will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother.

Survivors include her daughter, Carla Vidrine and husband, J. Philip of Concord Township, Ohio; her dedicated caregiver, Patsy Dugas; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Vidrine and husband, Andrew Lee of Denver, Colo., and Philip Vidrine of Tenn.; and great-grandchildren, Edgar and Celeste Vidrine-Lee.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Andrew Breaux; parents, Eli and Ada Blanchette; and siblings, Muriel, Eloise, and Waldo.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024 at Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton led by Hixson’s Celebrant, Jody Barrilleaux. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday in the funeral home. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Sage Oaks of Lake Charles for their excellent care of Juanita.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to one’s favorite charity or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
