Morgan Nelson “Black” Faulk, 88, passed away on July 14, 2023. He was born on December 6, 1934, in Grand Lake, La. to Nelson and Lona Theriot Faulk.

Black grew up during tough times and learned a strong work ethic at an early age. He worked in the rice fields and construction before retiring from Calcasieu Parish Gravity Drainage as a Heavy equipment operator. He was a hunting guide for many years and loved being in the Marsh whether hunting or operating an excavator. A man of many talents, he played several musical instruments by ear, including one of his favorites, the dobro. He enjoyed riding around on his four-wheeler with a cold beverage checking his cattle. At times he was loud and spoke rough, true to his Cajun heritage, but was a tender-hearted man with a soft spot for children and animals.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his children, Janice Landry (Chris), Mondell Garcia (Raul), Ricky Faulk, Kevin Faulk, Jared Faulk (Beth), Richard Faulk, and Terry Faulk (Monica); his son in law, Joey Babineaux; his 10 grandchildren, Joey Babineaux Jr (Lisa), Mitchell Babineaux (Nici), Cheri Compton (Chris), Heather Miller (Mike Sneed), Chase Landry (Rachel), Shaun Garcia (Angela), Gabriel Garcia, Garrett Faulk, Gavin Faulk (Anna), Cayden Faulk. His Grand dog, Sarge. 12 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren and one on the way.
