WESTLAKE — Multiple delays and a location change did little to slow down No. 3 DeQuincy.

The Tigers run-ruled No. 2 Logansport 10-0 in six innings late Wednesday night in the nonselect Division IV semifinals at the Louisiana High School Athletic Association state baseball tournament.

The Tigers (19-11) advance to the finals for the first time since 1981 and will face No. 1 Oak Grove (16-12) at 2 p.m. on Friday.

The game was originally schedule for Tuesday at McMurry Park in Sulphur. Severe weather forced it to move to Wednesday, then another round of heavy rain forced the decision to move it to Westlake High School’s all artificial turf field.

Reese Ashworth dominated on the mound with 12 strikeouts and no walks while allowing one hit in five innings.

Sophomore Andrew Dowden had a big offensive game with five RBI, going 2-for-4. He had a bases clearing triple in the sixth inning.

Senior Jace Puryear put the DeQuincy on the board in the second inning with a two-out RBI single.
