Annie Mae Mathews Barnes, 94, transitioned Thursday, April 27, 2023. Annie was born in Four Corners, La., Aug. 9, 1928, to O’Neal Mathews and Celestine Bourgeois Mathews.      

She is survived by her children, Mary B. Bellanger of  Baton Rouge, La., Sandra B. (Kenneth) Mouton and Bernadette B. Seaberry, both of Lake Charles, La.; one son, Pastor Allen (Christina) Barnes Sr. of Richmond, Calif.; three daughters-in-law, Patsy Barnes-Davis of Fairfield, Calif., Cheryl Boswell-Barnes of Stockton, Calif., and Lillian Arceneaux of Lake Charles, La.; and another son-in-law, Albert Bellanger III; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several godchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and community friends.

Funeral service, 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Wake, Friday, May 5, Fondel Memorial Chapel, 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Final Viewing before funeral, Saturday 9 a.m. – 10:35 a.m. at Fondel Memorial Chapel.
