The National Weather Service’s Lake Charles office said it has increasing confidence in the potential for severe weather across the area on Friday.
“All modes of severe weather will be possible, including damaging wind gusts, large hail and tornadoes,” said lead forecaster Joe Rua.
Rua said an isolated supercell storms will develop Friday afternoon across the area. These storms will eventually evolve into a line ahead of a cold front that will cross during the late afternoon into early evening hours.
The enhanced potential risk area is northeast of a Leesville-to-Opelousas line with a slight potential risk for the remainder of most of Southwest Louisiana.
