John Hugh Winn was born Nov. 4, 1930, to Huby and Edna Leger Winn. He entered Heaven, greeted by his loved ones on Jan. 28, 2023.
Mr. Winn spent 50-plus years in the grocery business. His passion was meticulously maintaining his yard and flowers. He loved his family, especially his four granddaughters and his five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Winn was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brother, Nelson; his loving wife of over 50 years, Irene Thibodeaux Winn; and his beloved daughter, Carol Vincent.
He is survived by his son Craig (Lynette) Winn; his granddaughters Brittany (Christapher) Kingsley; Amber (Curtis) Kussmann; Melissa (Stephen) LeBlanc; Kellie (James) Mason; and his five great-grandchildren Cade, Aiden, Elizabeth, Ryan, and Owen. Also left to cherish his memory are his best friend, and son-in-law, John Vincent; his brothers, JB, Richard, and Donny; and sweet sister, Hazel, along with his nieces and nephews.
The Family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, from 9 a.m. until the time of service in the sanctuary of First Church of the Nazarene located at 3940 Holly Hill Road, Lake Charles, LA 70601. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Feb. 1, 2023, at the church. The Rev. Alan Weishampel is to officiate. Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Landmark of Lake Charles and Brighton Bridge Hospice.
