Joyce Cormier Bourque

Joyce Cormier Bourque, born in Pine Island on Aug. 5, 1939, daughter of the late Verly and Belzire (Weber) Cormier, passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2023, at the age of 83.
Joyce was a faithful member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Bell City, where she sang in the choir. She also participated in the Bell City/Hayes Rosary Group.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, L. J. Bourque; great-grandson, Maverick Bourque; siblings, Bella Landry, Ella Begnaud, Clara Daigle and Clyde Cormier.
Survivors are her children and their spouses, Linda Quirk (Ken) of Salado, Texas, Kenny Bourque (Martie) of Ardoin Cove, David Bourque (Valerie) of Salado, Texas, Gaynell Cormier (Michael) of Bell City, La., and Randy Bourque (Susan) of LeBleu Settlement; siblings, John Eddie Cormier and Beulah Benoit of Morse; grandchildren, Lauren Smith, Lindsay Fultz, Cody Quirk, Jared Quirk, Martin Bourque, Ann Nunez, Mandie Zaunbrecher, Samatha Bourque, Jacob Milligan, Braun Bourque, Baylee Francois and Bryley Bourque; great-grandchildren, Kenadi, Reese, Carter, Kannon, Kambry, Krew, Ryan, Lina, Clara, Ginny, Brynlee, Breck, Finn, Ian, Maggie, Hayes and Levi-expected in April.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at St. John Vianney in Bell City on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at 10 a.m. The Rev. John Payne, Celebrant. Burial followed in Lorrain Derouen Cemetery under the direction of Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa. Visitation began Sunday, Jan. 15, 2023 in Johnson & Brown Funeral Home of Iowa from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. and continued in St. John Vianney on Monday from 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
