Jim Huff was born on June 18, 1947, in Orange, Texas, and died on Oct. 1, 2022, as a result of a ruptured brain aneurysm at the age of 75.
He graduated from Stark High School in 1965 and received an associate degree in Fire Technology from Lamar University. Jim worked for the Orange Fire Department; and at the time of his retirement, he worked for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in Hackberry.
Jim will be most remembered for the beautiful yard he maintained, his interests in the weather, stock market, news, walking in the mall with the “mall walkers,” and watching old western movies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Vicie Martin Huff; his brother-in-law, Tony Tate; and grandson, Ian Murphy.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Debbie Tate Huff; his mother-in-law, Lou Tate Charles; and his brother-in-law, Jerry Tate.
Jim has a daughter, Kim (Mike) Murphy, residing in Kennewick, Wash.
Many thanks and appreciation to all the friends and family who showed love, compassion and support during this difficult time. Heartfelt thanks to the doctors and nurses at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.
Jim’s final resting place will be at Highland Memory Gardens.
