A two-vehicle crash late Thursday night left one person dead.
Lake Charles Police Lt. Jeffrey Keenum said the crash occurred at about 11:17 p.m. on Interstate 210.
He said a 2009 Chevrolet Aveo was heading westbound in the outside lane, and stopped for an unknown reason with its emergency lights flashing. Keenum said a 2021 Ford F150 also traveling westbound in the outside lane did not see the Chevrolet and crashed into the rear of the Aveo.
The driver of the Chevrolet, Ronnie Jackson, 29, of Lake Charles was pronounced dead at the scene, Keenum said. The driver of the Ford was not injured in the crash.
Cpl. Rodney Grantham Jr. is the lead investigator for this crash.
