Betty Faye (Murphy) Boudreaux, 80, passed into the arms of our heavenly father on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at Resthaven. She was surrounded by her family and cared for by the kind, supportive staff of Resthaven, Stonebridge, and Harbor Hospice.

Born July 6, 1941, Betty was raised in Cameron, where she attended Creole High School and South Cameron High School until 1957 when Hurricane Audrey swept through town. Just 3 weeks later, having discovered they both survived, Betty married her sweetheart, Charles Berton Boudreaux of Creole. Together, they shared over 64 years of happy memories, a loving marriage, as well as creating a beautiful family together.

In the early years in Cameron, Betty’s kitchen became the place for many gatherings. She often entertained her company by serving afternoon coffee, as hosting friends was something she thoroughly enjoyed. As for her grandchildren, it was just expected that Granny always had her specialty homemade fudge or fresh baked syrup cake waiting for them to stop by. Bert and Betty loved to travel, especially to Branson, Missouri, which was their favorite destination, having gone 17 times. They also loved to dance, and their favorite spot was the living room with the grandkids as the audience. Their love for each other was always something admired. They lived in Cameron until 1998, and later built a home in Lake Charles. They also built a camp in Longville in 2010, where they were able to enjoy weekends and holidays with family during their later years.

Betty leaves to cherish her husband of 64 years, Charles “Bert” Boudreaux; one daughter, Wendy (Dwight) Savoie of Grand Lake; one son, Kevin (Susan) Boudreaux of Creole; 3 granddaughters, Jendi (Travis) Benoit of Lake Charles, Alexis (Mitch) Smith of Carlyss, Sarah (Cory) Adams of White, Georgia; one grandson, Keaton Boudreaux of Creole; one sister, Sherry (Joe) Howerton of Sulphur; 4 great grandchildren, Colby Blake Benoit, Luke Wyatt Benoit, Molly Grace Gueringer, and Conner Patrick Adams; 2 godchildren, Pat Murphy of Lake Charles and Kenton Howerton of California.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles “Tince” Murphy and Mary Joyce Miller Murphy; and one brother, Charles Ray Murphy, all from Cameron.
