David Buck Stewart, 68, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021 in a local hospice facility.  David was born on October 18, 1953 to Paul G. and Inez Hodge Stewart in Lake Charles, LA.

David was employed by the engineering firm of Meyer & Associates, Inc. as a Designer for fifty years.  He was an avid fly fisherman.  He enjoyed fly tying, and was a member of the Contraband Flycasters Club.  He enjoyed canoeing, birding, camping and woodworking.

Left to cherish his memory are his soulmate, Carol Fontenot of Sulphur, LA; his children, Jonathan Stewart of Lake Charles, Andrew Stewart (Kate) of Baton Rouge and Jennifer Stewart of Lake Charles; four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

David’s funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, October 21, 2021 at University Baptist Church, located at 4505 Lake Street.  Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home.  Visitation will be at the church on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at 11:30 AM.
