Molly Trimble Duhon

Molly Trimble Duhon, 74, of Moss Bluff, LA, passed away at 1:32 AM on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Duhon was born July 15, 1947 in Lake Charles, LA, where she lived most of her life until moving to Moss Bluff in 1976.  She was a 1965 graduate of LaGrange High School and graduated from McNeese State University with her bachelor’s in education and later her master’s in counseling.  During her years at McNeese, she was active in student government, was on the Homecoming Court, and a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.  She worked as a teacher and counselor for Calcasieu Parish.  She taught French and English at various schools in the district and retired in 2008 as a counselor at Moss Bluff Middle School.  Mrs. Duhon was a founding member of St. Andrew Episcopal Church, where she served as a lector and was active within the church.  She always enjoyed spending time with her friends and was a Theresian and loved her Mahjong and lunch groups.  She also had a great love for sports, especially when her children or grandchildren where playing.  Her true passions in life were for her family and traveling the globe.  She will always be remembered for her positive outlook on life and the love that she shared; she will be truly missed by all.

Mrs. Duhon is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Charles D. Duhon of Moss Bluff; children, Darrell Duhon and wife Tiffany of Sulphur, Julie Lauren Duhon of Lake Charles, and Benjamin Duhon and wife Virginia of Katy, TX; brother, Patrick Trimble of Fort Worth, TX; sister, Kate Krause and husband Dave of Oak Harbor, WA; grandchildren, Kaylie, Abby, Connor, Aislyn, Dax, and Dean; great-grandson, Wyatt; and numerous other nieces, nephews, family members and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Jane Trimble; and brother, Mike Trimble.

Her cremation was entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home.  A memorial service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 5:00 PM.  The Reverend Meg Lovejoy will officiate, assisted by Rev. Dr. Mitzi George and Rev. Francis “Boo” Kay.  A gathering of family members and friends will be at Hartner Hall at Good Shepherd on Saturday from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
