Suspect arrested in bank robbery

On Friday, September 15, 2017, at approximately 3:39 p.m., Lake Charles Police Department responded to 1001 N Martin Luther King Highway at Chase Bank in reference to a robbery.

Upon arrival Officers learned that the suspect entered the bank where he demanded a large amount of cash.

Upon receiving cash the suspect fled in a small SUV last seen south on North Martin Luther King Highway.  The suspect is described as a black male, 6’3”, bald, medium complexion, wearing a camouflage shirt with a design on the back and blue jeans.  The suspect was not armed.     

On Sunday, September 17, 2017 at approximately 6:00 p.m., Detectives were contacted by the Denver Colorado Police Department in reference to a subject stating he had committed the bank robbery in Lake Charles. 

Detectives made contact with Detective Eric Denke, Denver Colorado Police Department and requested he obtain a statement from the subject.  The subject was identified as Lionel Charles Baltimore, who admitted to robbing the Chase Bank at 1001 North Martin Luther King Highway, Lake Charles, LA.  

Detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Lionel Charles Baltimore which was presented to Judge Guy Bradberry.  Judge Bradberry issued a $1,000,000 dollar bond.  Baltimore was booked into the Denver Police Department Jail to await extradition to Louisiana.
