Anna Watson, Olivia Broussard and Magalie Depot each scored once as McNeese State beat winless Houston Baptist Friday for a 3-1 Southland Conference victory.

The Cowgirls (2-1, 2-0 SLC) won their second consecutive game. They’ll host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi at 1 p.m. Sunday. HBU fell to 0-4-1, 0-3.

HBU’s Ryan Ford spoiled the shutout in the 78th minute when she intercepted a pass across the back line and made it 3-1.

The Cowgirls have struggled to remain healthy and have numbers. They were down 10 players Friday due to injuries and left with five players on the bench.
