The Cajun Mustangers will hold their 11th annual car show on Saturday at Tarver Ford in Sulphur. The show, which used to be open only to those who owned a Mustang or other Ford model, will now be open to cars of any make and model — making the show a car enthusiast’s dream come true.

Registration for vehicles will take place from 8 a.m. to noon for a $25 registration fee per car. Each participant will also receive a T-shirt, goodie bag, dash plaque, lunch and eligibility to win one of the show’s 30 prizes. Entry is free for those not entering a vehicle into the contest. All proceeds from the event going to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project.

Event organizer Ralph Unglaube said he expects the show to have more cars than ever before.

“We usually have anywhere from between 50 to 75 cars, but that was when we only allowed Mustangs and other Ford vehicles in the show. Now that the show is open to any class of show vehicle we’re expecting anywhere from a 100 to 125 vehicles. Other than the cars, we’ll have barbeque, a chance for people to win some money with raffle tickets, and live music. Everyone will have a good time, it’s a really good family event,” he said.

Unglaube said the show will offer plenty of chances for cars to win prizes.

“We’ll give out trophies for things like best engine, and best paint job. We’ll also have prizes for best choice, and for every category, we’ll give out trophies for the top five. For instance, if you have a Mustang, we’ll have a category for Mustangs between the years of 1964 and 1973, and we’ll give out five trophies for that. We’ll give out over 30 trophies altogether,” he said.
