A teacher at Sam Houston High School admitted to having sexual contact with a student, state police said.

Lance Duhon, 37, was arrested Friday and charged with indecent behavior with a juvenile and prohibited sexual contact between

an educator and student, said Troop D spokesman Sgt. James Anderson.

Duhon was booked into Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center on $11,000 bond.

State police investigators were contacted Thursday by parents concerned about “inappropriate contact” between Duhon and their

juvenile daughter, Anderson said.

The girl confirmed she was in a sexual relationship with Duhon and Duhon admitted during an interview Friday to inappropriate

contact with her, Anderson said.

Explicit text messages between the girl and Duhon were indicative of a sexual relationship, he said.

If convicted of both charges, Duhon faces up to a $6,000 fine and up to 7 1/2 years in prison.
