16-year-old Barbe student arrested

Special to the American Press

A 16-year-old Barbe High School student has been arrested for terrorizing after several students overheard him say he wanted to kill people, authorities said.

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Kim Myers said her office was notified Monday by the Barbe resource officer of a threat from a student at the school.

When detectives spoke with the boy he confirmed he made the threat, Myers said. He was arrested and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center and is charged with terrorizing.

Det. Melanie Veillon is the lead investigator in the case.””school arrestMGNonline
