T.S. Cooley Elementary new student registration begins next week

Registration for the 2024-2025 school term at T.S. Cooley Elementary Magnet School is open Feb.  5 through Feb. 29. Applications are accepted online. Any student residing in Calcasieu Parish entering grades kindergarten through fifth grade may register to be tested for admission to the magnet school program. 

T.S. Cooley Elementary Magnet School offers a strong academic program with an emphasis on art integration. In addition to the regular elementary curriculum, students have the opportunity to participate in Music, Art, French, full-time Physical Education, Library, Piano, Performing Choir, student leadership positions, and numerous clubs. T.S. Cooley is recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, a Nationally Certified Magnet School, a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, and is currently ranked as a top elementary school in Louisiana. Extended Day Care is available for students needing care after school.  Bus transportation is provided from pre-designated locations.   

All applicants will be screened and ranked according to test scores. Ranking order will determine acceptance into the magnet program. Applicants registering after the close of registration will be waitlisted and tested if space becomes available. 

An open house session will be held Feb. 22. Private tours are also available. Interested parents are invited to call the school office at 337-217-4680 for more information.
