Monica Hebert to display works at Stellar Beans

<p class="indent">“I Came Home,” a solo art exhibit by Lake Charles native Monica Hebert, will be on display at Stellar Beans Coffee House from Sept. 3-30.</p><p class="indent">An opening reception is set for 6-8 p.m. Sept. 13 at the coffee house, 319 Broad St.</p><p class="indent">Hebert was named the Stellar Artist of the Month for September. A self-taught artist, her experience includes working with artists while she lived in New York City, along with time spent in New York’s Student Art League.</p><p class="indent">The pieces featured in her exhibit focus on landscapes and flowers. They were all created after Hebert moved back to Lake Charles eight years ago. Her main influence comes from impressionists, especially Vincent van Gogh.</p><p class="indent">The exhibit features two large masonite wood panels Hebert painted from memory. “Rosalie’s Garden” is a tribute to her late mother, Rosalie Hebert.
