Sulphur Police Investigate Attempted Second-Degree Murder

News Release

SULPHUR – On Thursday, August 2, 2018 at approximately 10:20 pm officers of the Sulphur Police Department were dispatched to 211 West Thomas Street in reference to a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, officers arrested a Hispanic Male identified as Jesus Loera age 30 of Sulphur.

Loera was charged with domestic abuse battery with strangulation, false imprisonment and aggravated assault.

After further investigation, Detectives later charged and booked Loera with attempted second degree murder.

Loera is being held at the Sulphur City Jail on a $250, 000.00 bond.

The lead investigator handling the case is Detective Ryan Arnold.

Jesus Loera was originally charged with domestic abuse battery with strangulation, false imprisonment and aggravated assault. The charges have been changed to attempted second-degree murder.
