Black Bayou Pontoon Bridge resuming limited vehicle traffic

Emergency repairs at Calcasieu Lock have been completed.

The Black Bayou Pontoon Bridge will resume limited service to vehicle traffic beginning at 5 a.m. Friday, March 8. The bridge remains inoperable due to mechanical issues so DOTD will manually open and close the pontoon to facilitate vehicle traffic during peak hours.

The bridge will be open daily to vehicle traffic during the following times:

5:00am – 8:00am (Monday – Friday)
4:00pm – 7:00pm (Monday – Friday)
6:00am – 8:00am (Saturday & Sunday)
5:00pm – 7:00pm (Saturday & Sunday)

The bridge will remain open to marine traffic at all other times.
