Lafayette man arrested for I-10 incident near Welsh

A Lafayette man has been arrested for allegedly pointing a gun at a motorist on Interstate 10 near Welsh.

Marquail Laquan Lee James, 22, was arrested Sunday for aggravated assault with a firearm by the Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office.

James was arrested after a call advised police that a man driving a red Mercedes with no license plate had pointed a silver pistol at him while traveling down the interstate near Welsh, Chief Deputy Chris Ivey said.

Deputies were able to stop the vehicle near Jennings and observed a silver semi automatic Smith and Wesson 9 mm pistol and two magazines in plain view on the floorboard of the vehicle, Ivey said.

The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office reports the following arrests:

Eric Tramaine Gray, 21, and Natasha Nicole Boudreaux, 34, of Jennings; possession of a controlled dangerous substance Schedule I with intent to distribute, two counts of possession of controlled dangerous substance Schedule II with intent to distribute; possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of legend drugs. Tre Neil Dunn, 20, Jennings; possession of a controlled dangerous substance Schedule I with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.””Arrested Marquail James
