BREAKING: Police investigating early morning homicide

Lake Charles Police are investigating an early morning homicide that occurred on West Prien Lake Road.

Deputy Chief Kevin Kirkum said officers responded to reports of a shooting just after 1 a.m. Friday morning at 1780 W. Prien Lake Road.

“Two individuals were shot one has died,” Kirkum said.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information in this case is asked to contact the Lake Charles Police
Department.

Kirkum said officers believe the shooting was an isolated incident involving the victims.
