JDSO: Fugitive arrested for gun violence

<p class="p1">Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff’s office investigated two incidents involving a convicted felon threatening individuals with a firearm.  Warrants were obtained for Chantler Kane Fruge, 22, of 12535 Hwy. 99 Welsh, La for an incident occurring on July 26, 2017, Where Fruge pointed a semi auto pistol at a farmer on Frey Road.  Again on July 26, Fruge entered Doucet Tire repair at 315 South Simmons Street, Welsh and began yelling and threatening an off duty Welsh Police Officer.  Fruge was arrested in Calcasieu Parish yesterday, August 9, 2017 and then transferred to the Parish jail in Jennings.  Fruge is charged with 14:103 A2 Disturbing the peace, 14:122.2 Threatening a public official, 14:37.4 Aggravated assault with a firearm, and 14:95.1 Possession of a firearm by convicted felon.  Fruge was arrested in March 2017 on drug related charges by Jefferson Davis Parish narcotics detectives.
