Being 55 or older has its perks at S&M Family Outlet. On the first Tuesday of every month – and that’s today – senior shoppers receive 20 percent off already deeply discounted merchandise.
Everyone who shops at S&M saves every time they shop. The reason it continues to be popular for the style savvy as well as the budget conscious is because the store is full of fashionable and classic high quality men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and shoes, home goods and gifts. Many of the items are designer merchandise or well-known brand name items. New shipments arrive frequently, and you never know exactly what you might find.
“You’ll find some of the same items at S&M Family Outlet that you’ve seen at major department stores and boutique shops,” said store owner Steve Stoma, “but you’ll pay less, considerably less.”

“Everything in the store is priced to move,” said Stoma, some items are discounted as much as 80 percent.”
How can S&M offer such incredible pricing? It’s a family tradition born of necessity. Over 60 years ago, Joe Stoma, Steve’s father, started the business. Born in 1925, one of ten siblings, a child of The Great Depression and a WWII Veteran, Joe understood the meaning of hard work.
“Just like now, families needed to make every dollar count,” Steve said. “Dad went on the road with a U-Haul to find the best deals and he brought discount pricing on high quality merchandise to Southwest Louisiana.”
Today Steve locates the best deals from across the U.S., mainly using the Internet. He purchases store overstocks, factory overstocks, closeouts and catalog buyouts from across the U.S. for S&M Family Outlet Stores in Lake Charles, Beaumont and Port Arthur.
