Pinwheel event kicks off today

<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana and local partners will kick off the Pass the Pinwheel event to raise awareness about Child Abuse Prevention Month at 10:30 a.m. today at Lake Charles City Hall, 326 Pujo St.</span>

<p class="p1">Mayor Nic Hunter, District Attorney John DeRosier, Calcasieu Parish School Superintendent Karl Bruchhaus and Coroner Terry Welke will all be in attendance.

<p class="p1">Additionally, pinwheels will be distributed starting at 11 a.m. at Prien Lake Mall and downtown.
