Jennings woman dies after Acadia Parish two-vehicle crash

A Jennings woman died Monday after a two-vehicle accident on La. 97, just north of Interstate 10, in Acadia Parish, state police said.

Amy Lejeune, 28, died from her injuries at Lafayette General Hospital, said Master Trooper Brooks David.

Lejeune was traveling south on La. 97 in a 2012 Nissan Altima when she lost control, crossed the center line and struck a northbound 2015 Toyota Corolla driven by Mark Streckfus, 39, of Houston.

Lejeune, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, suffered critical injuries, David said.

Streckfus was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injures. Impairment isn’t believed to be a factor in the crash, David said.
