Basile man arrested in Jennings for theft

News Release

Wednesday September 5, deputies were called in reference to a theft of a bicycle on Babineaux road, Jennings.

When deputies arrived the complainant advised a white male was seen walking on the road and later observed on surveillance cameras in the victim’s yard taking the bicycle. 

With the help from neighbors, the suspect was located in a wooded area at the end of the road. The bicycle was recovered and returned to the victim.

The suspect, Joel Matthew Miller, 33, of 1044 Necessity Loop, Basile, LA was arrested on two counts criminal trespass, Theft and Obstruction of justice. He is currently incarcerated with no bond in the parish jail.
