Arts, crafts, egg hunts galore this weekend

Several Easter egg hunts are being planned throughout Allen and Jeff Davis parishes as the holiday nears. Here is a look at Easter egg hunts that are planned for children and their families:

Oberlin Easter Egg Hunt

OBERLIN – The Allen Parish Libraries, American Legion Post 144, Town of Oberlin and Circle of Friends will host a Community Easter Egg Hunt 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at the Oberlin Town Park.

The free event is open to ages 0-12 and those 65 and older.

There will be registration at the event.

Elizabeth Easter Egg Hunt

ELIZABETH – The Village of Elizabeth will host it’s 8th annual Easter egg hunt 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at Lil Piney Park, 12760 La. 112.

Egg hunts begin at 10:30 a.m. For infants to 2-year-olds with one parent per child and ages 5-6 with no parents. Additional egg hunts will be held at 11:15 a.m. for ages 3-4 and 7-9 with no parents and noon for those ages 10-12 with no parents.

There will also be a petting zoo, dunking booth, a magic show, sack races, face paining, balloon artist, a jump zone and pictures with the Easter bunny.

All activities and refreshments are free. Tickets will be provided at the gate for food and drinks.

Welsh Easter Egg Hunt

WELSH – An Easter egg hunt will be held noon-2 p.m. Saturday, April 1, at Sportsman’s Park, 103 West Grove Street in Welsh.

Entry is free for those ages 1-6, 7-12 and adults with special needs.

In addition to the egg hunt there will be cash prizes, hamburgers and hot dogs.

Lake Arthur Egg Hunt

LAKE ARTHUR – The town of Lake Arthur will hold an Easter egg hunt 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 2, in the Lake Arthur Park.

There will be train rides, pictures with the Easter bunny, a bunny tattoo station, hot dogs, chips and cold drinks.

The event is open free to children ages 0-10.

Separate egg hunts will be held for children 0-3; 4-6 and 7-10.

Jennings Egg Hunt

JENNINGS – An inaugural community Easter egg hunt will be held noon-3 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Marcus Cain Park, 510 Peters Street, in Jennings.

Easter baskets will be provided.

The event is open to all kids from the area.

Kids must be accompanied by an adult.
