Local man accused of holding woman, child at knifepoint

A Jennings man is behind held in the Jeff Davis Parish Jail after he allegedly held a woman and a child at knifepoint during a domestic disturbance.

Sebastian Lyn Hanks, 29, is facing charges of domestic abuse battery with strangulation, domestic abuse aggravated assault with child endangerment, false imprisonment, aggravated assault, interfering with emergency communication and simple criminal damage to property.

The incident began Friday when sheriff deputies responded to a disturbance call at 3285 Cleopha Road Lot B.

The complaint reported that a husband and wife were involved in an argument and the husband was holding a knife, according to Chief Deputy Chris Ivey.

Witnesses told deputies that Hanks tried to keep his wife from leaving with a child and punctured a tire on her vehicle with the knife he assaulted her with.
