A tropical disturbance off the coast of Texas will slowly move north/northwest through the next couple of days, bringing elevated rain chances and below normal temps to the region through Saturday.

The National Weather Service’s Lake Charles office said on Sunday and into next week, the area will return to a more seasonal pattern of daily afternoon showers and thunderstorms.

“Two to four inches of rain, with locally higher amounts of 8 to 10 inches is expected in Southwest Louisiana,” said Meteorologist in Charge Roger Erickson. “I have higher confidence that we will see some street flooding during periods of heavy rain in southeast Texas and Southwest Louisiana.”
