Two men have been arrested in the March double homicide that occurred in the 500 block of East LaGrange Street.

Lake Charles Police Deputy Chief F. Fondel said Zyterius Anderson, 19, and Jamarcus Miller, 20, have been arrested on two counts of second-degree murder and are being held in the Calcasieu Correctional Center. Judge Tony Fazzio set both of their bonds at $1.8 million.

Fondel said Miller was also arrested in April in a separate shooting that occurred in the area of Bank and Sycamore streets.

Two Houston men were identified as the victims in the East LaGrange Street shooting, James Malik Johnson, 22, and Jacob Yarbrough, 18.

Fondel said the victims traveled from Texas to the Lake Charles area in order to conduct a drug transaction.

“The shooting occurred during the course of this transaction and the suspects fled the area,” Fondel said.

Fondel said one victim was found lying outside a Chevy Impala parked in the middle of the roadway; the other man was located in the 3500 block of Common Street and pronounced deceased by Acadian Ambulance.

The investigation is ongoing, Fondel said.

Sgts. Jeff Atkinson and Ben Randolph are the lead investigators on this case.

Fondel said anyone with additional information is asked to contact them by calling 337-491-1311.
