BREAKING: Arrest made in McCall Street homicide

A 36-year-old Lake Charles man has been charged in a Friday fatal shooting on McCall Street.
Lake Charles Police Sgt. Brenda Desormeaux said Joshua Hardin is being held at the Calcasieu Correctional Center on charges of second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder.

Desormeaux said the shooting occurred in the 1000 block of McCall Street. Officers on the scene found two men suffering from gunshot wounds; one was transported to a local hospital and pronounced deceased. He has been identified as 30-year-old Steven Sturlese of Lake Charles.  

The second man was transported to a local hospital, and once stabilized, airlifted to New Orleans for further treatment. He remains in critical condition at this time.

Judge David Ritchie set Hardin’s bond at $1,500,000.

This remains an ongoing investigation and additional information will be released as it become available.
