Allie Guinevere Higdon, age 22, of Carlyss, La., passed away on Friday, April 8, 2022. Allie was born Jan. 28, 2000.
Allie was a native of Carlyss, and later settled in Lake Charles. She attended Sulphur High School where she was a member of the Sulphur High Band and the Lady Tor Soccer Team. Besides being a talented musician and athlete, Allie was also an extraordinarily gifted artist and ballet dancer.
Allie was an endless source of encouragement, joy, and kindness for her friends and family. She will be remembered always for her smile that could brighten the darkest of days; her innocent, sweet demeanor; her love of animals; her love of cultivating exotic plants; and her love of adventure and travel.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Sarah J Higdon (Kelly) of Carlyss; siblings, Kolt Briar Klein and Koraline Brooke Klein; her father, James Harry Powell (Jamie) of Moss Bluff; siblings, Hayden Reese Meadows, Camden Jacob Powell, Bailey Kai Powell, James Patrick David Powell, and Reagan Marie Powell; her maternal grandfather, Michael Higdon; great-grandmother, Jackie Dugas Ellender; paternal grandmother, Prebble Pumpelly Bonett (Warren); paternal grandfather, Eddie Powell (Donna); great-grandfather, Carl Powell; her aunts, Misty Higdon White and Celia Bonett; her uncles, Michael Higdon, Jonathon Higdon, Jason Powell and Wyndham Bonett.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Karen Ellender Higdon Nickles; great-grandfather James Ellender; paternal great-grandfather and great-grandmother, Paul and Margaret Pumpelly; and great-grandmother, Margie Rush Powell.
Pallbearers will be Randall Powell, Zack Pumpelly, Jacob Love, Evan Harris, Ian Harris, Josh Anderson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, 2022, in Hixson Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home with celebrant Jody Barrilleaux leading services. Burial will follow in Mimosa Pines South Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 14, in the funeral home.
