Mary  Lou Bellard

Mary Lou Bellard was born in Orange, Texas, on July 14, 1939, and entered  eternal life with her Heavenly Father on Jan. 19, 2022. She was a life-long resident of Lake Charles, La.

Mary Lou worked briefly as a CNA but dedicated most of her life to nurturing her family as a homemaker and as an Evangelist spreading the love of Jesus Christ.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Ernest Batchan Jr., Donetta (Clifton Jr.) Colston, Mark Batchan, all of Lake Charles, La., Brian (Bessie) Batchan of Pittsburg, Calif., and Edwina Jody Ary of Tomball, Texas; three brothers, Alvin Bellard and Alex Bellard, both of San Jose, Calif., and Larry Bellard of Houston, Texas; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mary Lou is preceded in death by her parents, Elect Alexander Bellard and Lula Mae Briggs Bellard; husband of more than 30 years, Ernest Batchan Sr.; two brothers, Melvin and Roscoe Bellard; and two grandsons, Alex Batchan and Jason Ary.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at 9 a.m., and funeral service at 11 a.m., at King’s Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Combre Memorial Park under the direction of King’s Funeral Home.
