John “Jack” Adams

Funeral Services for Jack Adams, 72, will be held Saturday, Nov. 27, 2021 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Ardoin Cove Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, Nov. 26, 2021 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and resume at 8 a.m. Saturday until time of service at  Hixson Funeral Home of Welsh.  Carrying Jack to his final resting place will be Davin Adams, Bryce Adams, Carl LeBlanc, Casey LeBlanc, Jeff Murphy and Randy “Tiny” Murphy. Honorary pallbearers are Carter Adams and Kase Adams.

Jack was born in Jennings, La. Oct. 14, 1949 to John C. Adams Sr. and Ethyl Myrl Hardy Adams and left for the big fishing pond in the sky on Nov. 22, 2021.

Jack attended Welsh High School, graduating class of 1968. He married Carolyn Faye Adams and later joined the Air Force. Jack began fishing tournament circuits while in the military with the Flying Tiger Bass Club. He later traveled the US with his family for several years fishing various semi-pro tournaments ending his career as a proud member of the Southwest Bass Masters of Iowa.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Faye, his two sons and daughters-in-law, Jud and Jessica, Joey and Michelle; his four grandsons, Davin, Bryce, Carter and Kase; his sister, Sharane Gott; and several nieces and nephews.

Jack was a lover of family and fishing. He met no strangers and touched many lives. Jack will be remembered for his love of corny jokes and tall tales.
