Jennings: Maurice was born in Egan, LA on Tuesday, June 20, 1944, to Maurice George Miller and Lydia Simar. He was called from this life on Saturday, October 23, 2021. Maurice worked as an operator in the petroleum industry, a job which he loved. He also loved playing golf. Maurice’s greatest joys came from spending time and making memories with his family. Maurice was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Maurice is survived by two daughters, Chrystal Miller Brooks (Daniel) of Abilene, TX, Sonya Miller Fontenot (Brandon) of Vinton, LA; his granddaughter, Kailey Ewing Young (Tyler) of Sulphur, LA; his great granddaughter, Mollie Kate Rougeau; his two sisters, Roxy Perry (Bobby) of Mermentau, LA, Geneva Miller Thomas (Bill) of Houston, TX.
Maurice is preceded in death by his parents, Maurice & Lydia Miller; his beloved wife, Margaret Bellard Miller; his siblings, Curlis Doucet, Joyce Duplichien, Grace Guidry, Francis LeJeune, and Leona Mae Miller.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church for Maurice Carrol Miller, 77 of Vinton, LA on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 11:00 AM.
Visitation will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home beginning on Tuesday, October 26th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM. The family requests that visitation resume on Wednesday, October 27th at 10:00 AM until the time of his funeral Mass at 11:00 AM.
