The Lake Charles Symphony kicked off its season Sunday with “Rhapsody in Blue,” conducted by Chelsea Tipton II of the Symphony of Southeast Texas and featuring McNeese faculty member Lina Morita on piano at the McNeese Tritico Theatre. “Rhapsody in Blue,” a 1924 orchestral jazz composition by George Gershwin, combines elements of classical music with jazz-influenced effects.
