Man indicted in stabbing of his 4-year-old nephew

A man accused of stabbing a 4-year-old to death was indicted on second-degree murder charges Thursday.
A grand jury called for a special session in 36th Judicial District Court returned a true bill against John W. Hatfield III, 25, District Attorney David Burton said in a news release.
Hatfield is accused of stabbing to death his 4-year-old nephew in the chest on Dec. 18 in the Graybow area of Beauregard Parish.
Hatfield is being held on $750,000 bond.
Other Indictments
Catherine Anderson, 54, and Cheryl Schonsby, 50, were indicted on charges of second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit second-degree murder, Burton said.
The women are accused of shooting to death Anderson’s live-in boyfriend, 53-year-old Jerry Stover, at their home on U.S. 171 on Christmas Eve.
The women each face a total bond of $1.25 million.
The grand jury indicted Dana C. Plunkett, 40, on a second-degree murder charge in the July 5, 2012, shooting death of her live-in boyfriend, 56-year-old Darrell Glen “Red” Regan, Burton said.
Plunkett and Regan lived in the Bundick Lake area.
Plunkett has bond of $500,000.
Bob Burgess, 45, was indicted on a charge of aggravated rape; the crime happened between January 1995 and December 1996, Burton said.
His bond is $500,000.
